About the company

Backpacker Panda is a Pan India network of Hostels which was started with the aim of making traveling easier and more accessible for all travel enthusiasts. Their goal is to provide accommodations that are well-thought out, functional and comfortable and encourage traveling along with ‘social’ backpacking. They believe in the motto: Live, Travel, Explore, Breakfree. Their hostels are essentially European styled living quarters that provide accommodation in dormitories on a shared basis. The properties are currently present across: Manali, Bengaluru, Udaipur, Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Agra, to name a few.

Project Steps

  • Backpacker Panda has recently launched Backpacker Panda License, a loyalty program for travel enthusiasts across the world. This project aims at acquiring users for their Loyalty Program. The Campus Ambassador will act as Backpacker Panda’s representative and will carry out the following activities under the campaign "Loyalty Program for Anytime Travelling":
  • Word-of-Mouth/ Referral Marketing:
    1. Identify people in your immediate/ extended network (friends/ family/ peers) who travel/ like to travel/ planning to travel.
    2. Reach out to these people and conduct a small survey with them to understand their Travel Habits, Needs & Preferences.
    3. Speak to them about the Backpacker Panda Loyalty Program, its benefits, and its usage across any Backpacker Panda properties across India.
    4. Once interested, get them to complete the Registration Process and Pay the small membership fee of Rs. 99/- (They will get 100% cashback of the amount into their Backpacker Panda Account immediately).
    5. Take a screenshot of their Registered Profile and share it with the Project Manager via a Google Form
  • Social Media Marketing: Promote creatives/ videos about Backpacker License highlighting the benefits of a cost-effective/ hassle-free travel and other curated student discounts via Social Media Channels such as Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. The Posts will be provided to you in a ready-made format by the Project Manager, wherein you will be required to simply Share/ Repost/ Forward the same in your own Social Media Accounts.
  • Identify influencers and Convert them into Co-Campus Ambassadors: CAs will identify students in their Campuses who are 'travel enthusiasts/ travel bloggers' and who have stayed at Backpacker Panda Hostels/ Other Hostels earlier' and convince them to register for the card. Once they have registered, these students should be converted into Campus Ambassadors to spread the word into their extended networks/ followers.
  • Note: All members that a CA shall acquire will be tracked via a Unique Referral Link/ Code shared at the beginning of the project by the Project Manager.

Expected Project Output

Each Campus Ambassador will be expected to complete the following along with proof of work submitted in the form of screenshots on the google form:

-> Get a minimum of 10 users registered for the Backpacker Panda Loyalty Program.
-> Social Media Promotion via WhatsApp/ Facebook/ Instagram.

2. Certificates of Excellence highlighting specific Skills & Performance Levels: Will be given to students who achieve or showcase specific Performance Levels or Skills, as communicated by Project Manager from time to time.
3. Recommendations: LinkedIn Recommendations & Director's Recommendations will be given to Top Performers as per achievement of various target/ performance/ skill parameters and slabs (The achievement parameters & slabs for the same will be communicated by the Project Manager at appropriate times).

Type of Interaction
