FreeCharge is an e-commerce website headquartered in Gurgaon. It provides online facility to recharge any prepaid mobile phone, postpaid mobile, DTH & Data Cards in India. On 27 July 2017, Axis Bank acquired FreeCharge for $60 million.

Project Objective: This Campus Ambassador Program is a holistic program for College Students, launched by Freecharge in order to promote the adoption and usage of its wallet among college students and merchants operating in and around such College & Hostel Campuses. This will encompass a variety of Marketing & Branding activities including Market Research, hence providing the Campus Ambassadors with a holistic experience in the field of Marketing & Branding.

Project Steps

  • Selected Students will be designated as Freecharge Campus Ambassadors for their respective colleges and will be required to conduct a Market research with Food & Beverage Merchants in and around your Campus during the project duration. These tasks will be assigned to the Campus Ambassadors by the Project Manager on a daily/ weekly basis along with specific durations and deadlines.
  • The specific tasks that a Campus Ambassador will be required to do are as follows:
    1. Market Research: Identify Merchants within 1 - 2 kms of your College/ Hostel Campus and get information as to which digital wallet are they currently using. Tell them about Freecharge, its offers and ask them if they are interested in using the same to accept payments from customers. Upload the Names & Details of the Registered Merchants in a Google Form provided by the Project Manager.
  • You can also get the help of your friends and batchmates for this project and make a team since you will be the Campus Ambassador of this project representing your college for freecharge.

Expected Project Output

-> Get at least 10-20 Interested Merchants who are ready to use Freecharge, ready to upload the required documents on their App and install all the merchandise at their outlets.
-> Ensure submission of proof of work done against the above as per guidelines.

2. Students who play an active role in various College Activities, Clubs, Events, etc. and have a good network of friends in their Campus or Other Campuses.
3. People who like to work as per their own schedules and are willing to put in around 10 hours of work over 2 weeks.
4. Students who are comfortable interacting with merchants across their college/hostel vicinity and have personal contacts with them.
5. Target Oriented - People who have the drive to go the extra mile and achieve the predefined targets and deadlines.
6. People who have good interpersonal skills, are good at convincing people and are looking to pick up skills or experience in Marketing/ Branding/ customer engagement/ etc.

NOTE:
Once students are selected, the Project Manager will send an Email Invite to all these students to join their project group on "Basecamp3" - A Project Management App & Website. All further interactions between students & the Project Manager will take place via this Basecamp Group. Therefore, please be on the lookout for the Email Invitation and follow the steps mentioned in the email to register and start interacting on the Basecamp.

Type of Interaction
